Capitalizing on the Barrack Obama experience, Philippine “presidentiables” had taken their battle to the web.

Sen. Manny Villar had placed tremendous amount of advertisement in Google-owned websites and tools such as Youtube, and Adsense.

Meanwhile, Sen. Noynoy Aquino and his supporters had put up several websites of their own, and looped it to Twitter and Facebook. Administration candidate Gilberto Teodoro had put up his website and a twitter account in hopes to keep up with the two front runners.

All of them have Facebook fan page, with Sen. Aquino targeting a one million mark.

    As of March 04, 2010:

    On Facebook:

Sen. Noynoy Aquino has 813, 637 fans, less than two-hundred thousand behind his camp's target.

Sen. Manny Villar has 771, 568.

Former Defense Sec. Gilberto Teodoro only have 207, 756 fans.

    On Twitter:

Sen. Noynoy Aquino again leads with 34, 494 followers. His bureau's twiiter account Noynoy2010 has 1, 666 followers with 774 'twits'. Yellow Ribbons also dons many of his follower's twitter profile.Gibo Teodoro has 8, 984 followers. Sen. Manny Villar's official Twitter account has 1, 211follower.

Due to his massive spending and tie-up with Google, it’s no wonder that Sen. Villar leads in Google searches, as shown in the graph below.

Noted blogger Carlo Ople (who currently serves as the Global Digital Marketing Head of Friendster Inc. and owns his own Internet Marketing Agency, Catalyst.) even quipped that "Google Can Make You Support Manny Villar." Ople said that when it comes to the "three rules" of Internet Marketing "From the current roster of sites I’d have to say that it’s a statistical tie again between Senator Noynoy Aquino and Senator Manny Villar"
